A Heartbreaking Sight

While driving along a road in California, a volunteer from R.A.D. Rescue noticed a dog nearby and decided to stop and check on him.
As she approached, she couldn’t help but notice the dog’s unusually chubby face.
Upon closer inspection, the heartbreaking reason became clear. In a TikTok post, the volunteer shared: “His head was incredibly swollen from having a tight chain around his neck.”

Witnessing such cruelty inflicted on an innocent dog is truly heartbreaking. He had done nothing to deserve this suffering.
Realizing the dog needed urgent help, the volunteer carefully lured him into her car with some chicken.
A Journey To Recovery

The dog, now named Chunk the Hunk, was finally safe in the volunteer’s care as they headed to the nearest veterinary clinic in California for a thorough checkup.
Surprisingly, despite the likely pain he was in, Chunk didn’t seem too concerned. Instead, he appeared to be enjoying the ride, his calm demeanor shining through even in such difficult circumstances.
Fortunately, the vet assured them that Chunk’s swollen head was very treatable and that, with proper care, he would recover in no time.
It’s truly amazing to see how quickly Chunk was able to heal and bounce back, showing just how resilient and strong he really is.

Once Chunk had recovered, his rescuer knew it was time to help him experience the joys of life—something he had missed out on while being chained up for so long.
Chunk eagerly embraced his new freedom, learning so many things for the first time. His outgoing personality began to shine, and he became a happy, playful dog.
Finding him the perfect forever home wasn’t easy, but the team at R.A.D. Rescue was determined not to give up. Chunk’s patience and unshakable spirit carried him through, and after a few months, he finally found his forever family.
Today, Chunk is living his best life, surrounded by love and care, all thanks to the dedication of his incredible rescuer.
