Right outside their door sat a litter of adorable puppies, seemingly waiting to be taken into the safety of the warm shelter.
As the staff brought them inside, they discovered a handwritten note—one that left them utterly heartbroken.

The note was written by a compassionate homeless man who, despite his own struggles, chose to save the puppies. The litter belonged to a local stray he had been caring for, but after she tragically passed away, he felt responsible for her babies.

**”Please help! I found these puppies after noticing a local stray dog I often fed lying lifeless by the road. She had been hit by a car. Knowing she had puppies somewhere, I searched the places I had seen her before and finally found them.
I’m sorry for leaving them like this, but I am homeless and cannot afford to care for them. My heart breaks for these little ones and their mother. I just want them to have the chance that neither she nor I ever had.
