Seeing a stray dog struggling alone on the street is, sadly, all too common. But finding a beautiful white puppy not only homeless but also tied to a pole by the road is even more heartbreaking.
This was the heartbreaking reality for a young white Husky found on the streets of Santa Monica, California. Not only was he constantly tied up, but he also endured daily harassment from homeless individuals.
Despite it all, this brave six-month-old puppy never lost his smile or his hope that one day, a kind soul would come to rescue him.

One morning, everything changed for Buckley, the white Husky. As he endured his hardest days, a local rescuer happened to pass by.
The moment she saw him, she was stunned—how could such a beautiful, innocent soul be left suffering, tied to a fence for so long?
Without hesitation, she sprang into action. Soon, Buckley was in the caring hands of the experienced team at Love Leo Rescue. Despite all he had been through, the rescuers were amazed by his resilience and the joyful spirit he continued to radiate.

“Buckley is an exceptional dog,” Love Leo Rescue director Sasha Abelson told The Dodo. “He is well-balanced and loving and didn’t let his past experiences change his wonderful personality.”
The rescue team made sure he was surrounded by love, helping his wounds—both physical and emotional—heal as quickly as possible. In return, Buckley’s incredible positivity brought smiles to everyone at the center, from employees to volunteers.

Unfortunately for the rescue team, Buckley’s time with them was short-lived—because he quickly found a loving foster home.
With a fresh start ahead, Buckley’s new chapter was finally beginning.

When a woman named Angela heard Buckley’s heartbreaking story from the streets of Santa Monica, she knew she had to help. Without hesitation, she stepped up to become his foster mom.
The bond between them was instant, and Buckley quickly adapted to his new life. After enduring so much hardship yet still managing to smile, this new reality felt like a little paradise to him.
“Buckley is a typical, happy-go-lucky Husky,” Abelson said. “He loves playing with his dog friends, learning new skills, going on hikes, and cuddling with his humans. He’s just the perfect family dog.”
But Buckley didn’t just find healing for himself—he also brought comfort to his foster mom in a way she never expected.
“Buckley is such a great dog! He is our foster who has helped me in my recovery with PTSD. He needs to be active and follow a routine… which turns out is exactly what I need too,” Angela shared in an Instagram post.

Despite all the love he’s received, Buckley is still waiting for his forever home—one where he can finally experience the happiness he truly deserves.
“Buckley would love to go into an active home, preferably with another playful, well-balanced dog,” Abelson said. “We think a dog brother or sister would be wonderful for him.”
With both his radiant spirit and undeniable beauty, Buckley’s perfect forever home is surely just around the corner.
