Hoping Kylie might have better luck finding a family in another city, the Spokane Humane Society transferred her to the Benton-Franklin Humane Society in Kennewick, Washington.
There, Julie, a dedicated volunteer, quickly fell in love with the gentle and affectionate pup. She does her best to shower Kylie with love and spend as much time with her as possible.
“I’ll sit in the kennel with her, and she’ll sit with me. She likes getting pets. It’s tough for her because she doesn’t get as much people time as she would like,” Julie shared with GeoBeats Animals.
Despite her limited time with people, Kylie’s sweet and patient nature continues to shine through, touching the hearts of everyone she meets.
Kylie, along with the other shelter residents, lights up with joy whenever more volunteers visit the shelter to spend time with them.

“She’s so excited; otherwise, they’re stuck in their kennels usually for around 22 hours a day,” Julie explained.
The moment Kylie hears the shelter staff or volunteers approaching her kennel, her tail starts wagging furiously, and her eyes light up with pure joy. With a favorite toy clutched gently in her mouth, she eagerly waits at the door, her sparkling eyes filled with love and anticipation.

Despite this challenge, Julie remains hopeful that the right family—a family where Kylie can be the only pet—will come along and see the loving, devoted companion Kylie is waiting to be.
“I think that’s 90% of the reason why she hasn’t found a home—because most animal lovers already have a dog or a cat. So finding someone who fits Kylie’s needs is really tough,” Julie explained.
Kylie absolutely adores spending time with people. When Julie introduced her to her nieces, the sweet pup was overjoyed. Her tail wagged non-stop, and her playful energy lit up the room as she soaked up every moment of attention and affection.
This loving dog has so much love to give and an endless supply of loyalty and joy to share. All Kylie needs is a chance—a chance for someone to see her for the incredible companion she truly is.
