Chris found Pattie and another dog wandering the streets of Thermal, California. For Pattie, the first few weeks were incredibly tough—she had lost her puppies and was navigating a painful healing process without proper care.
Despite Chris’s best efforts to comfort her, Pattie remained overwhelmed by stress. She broke through a fence and showed nervous behavior around people, making it clear that she needed urgent help.

Pattie’s rescuer reached out to The Animal Rescue Center of California, who wasted no time driving to meet this sweet girl. Beneath her anxious demeanor was a loving soul, desperate for comfort and care.
With support from Rescue Lyfe in North Palm Springs, California, the team set out to find Pattie a foster home—a safe place where she could finally heal and begin her incredible transformation.
“She needs somewhere to go. How she ended up here, we don’t know, but it’s surely not a story anyone would want to imagine. She’s the typical, sweet-as-can-be baby Pittie—great with other pups,” Rescue Lyfe shared in an Instagram post.

In just a few short weeks, the team found Pattie a loving foster home. Jen, an experienced foster, eagerly welcomed this timid girl into her family.
Pattie’s journey wasn’t easy at first—adjusting took time. But with patience and love, she slowly began to trust again. She started coming out of her shell, growing more comfortable, and even bonding with Jen’s other dogs.
Before long, Pattie rediscovered what it meant to be a dog—safe, loved, and free to be herself again.

Her foster mom decided to rename her Suki—a change that soon led to the most incredible news!

As soon as she made the change, Jen realized that Pattie—now Suki—was never meant to be just a foster. She had found her forever home! Without hesitation, she reached out to The Animal Rescue Center of California to share the heartwarming decision—Suki was officially staying with her family for good.
