“It’s heart-wrenching that someone would abandon her like that. They tied her up so she couldn’t follow them when they left her behind,” Sabine explained to The Dodo.
Without wasting any time, the rescuers hurried Lisa to the vet clinic, where she received a comprehensive head-to-toe examination.

The veterinarians discovered that Lisa was severely dehydrated, battling mange, and even showing early signs of cancer. She was immediately hooked up to an IV and admitted to the clinic for constant monitoring.

Recovery Time
Within just two days, Lisa’s condition began to show noticeable improvement. “She was full of energy and greeted us with a wagging tail,” Sabine observed. By the fifth day, Lisa was well enough to leave the clinic and join the safehouse. However, once she arrived at her new home, the overwhelming love and care left her a bit unsure of how to respond, as she wasn’t used to such kindness.
