Milo wasn’t expected to give birth so soon, making it even more heartbreaking when none of her puppies survived.
Devastated, the mama dog fell into a deep sadness, constantly searching for her babies.
Anita Osa, a rescuer with Sunshine Dog Rescue in Arizona, turned to social media, hoping to find orphaned puppies in need of a mother’s care.

That wasn’t the outcome she expected. Instead of orphaned puppies, the responses were all about kittens.
Still, Osa decided to give it a try. She traveled to pick up the kittens from a local rescuer in Arizona and brought them home.
She told The Dodo, “Picked up three new little friends. Going to see how Milo takes to them.”
To her surprise, Milo remained calm and gentle around the kittens, showing no signs of aggression. As Osa carefully introduced them, the tiny kittens began latching onto her.
“From the very get-go, I supplemented and bottle-fed,” Osa explained. “But they got the comfort of nursing on her.”
A Great Relationship And A New Future

Milo and the kittens bonded quickly, and Osa was relieved to see how well they got along.
One day, when Osa took the kittens to feed them, Milo grew restless, eagerly waiting for their return. The moment they were back, she lit up with excitement, showering them with kisses.
What surprised Osa even more was how much Milo favored one kitten in particular—Gumball. She was especially protective of him, keeping a close eye and never letting him stray too far, as if fearing for his safety.

When it was time for Milo to find her forever home, she was adopted by a man named David.
Coincidentally, David’s sister was a cat lover and wanted to adopt a kitten. Seeing the perfect opportunity to reunite Milo and Gumball, Osa arranged for her to adopt him.
As for the other two kittens, they also found loving homes and are now thriving in their new families.
Osa reflected on the incredible journey, saying, “These kittens got a mom when they wouldn’t have had one. For it to have such a heartwarming ending is a beautiful thing to us.”
