Every mother dedicates herself to her children, ensuring they have what they need for a happy childhood. The same is true for mother dogs, especially those struggling to survive and protect their puppies on their own.
When a woman noticed a female Pit Bull wandering near her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she knew little about the dog’s past. She offered food several times, but the pittie longed for something more.
Once she discovered what it was, her heart ached for the dog, and she knew she had to step in and help.

The woman realized the dog’s struggles when she spotted her nursing a litter of hungry puppies near the house. Wanting to help, she set up a safe and comfortable space for them, but there was only so much she could do.
Determined to find help, she recorded a video of the mother dog caring for her puppies and sent it to someone she believed could make a difference. The moment this compassionate rescuer saw the message, she didn’t hesitate—she rushed to the scene immediately.
When Audray Luck, founder of Luck’s Rescue, arrived in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the mother dog wasted no time and jumped right into her lap. Despite everything she had endured, her joyful spirit never faded. Moved by her resilience, Luck gave her the perfect name—Happy.

Happy once lived in a warm and loving home, but after being abandoned by her owners, she was left to survive on her own. Not long after, she gave birth to seven puppies and did everything she could to care for them. Eventually, she led them to a nearby house, where the kind woman first discovered them.
“Happy just wanted to make sure that they got enough food and that they were healthy,” Luck told Cuddle Buddies.
Moved by Happy’s heartbreaking story, Luck was determined to give her and her puppies a brighter future, doing everything she could to help them.

Luck wasted no time and quickly found a foster home for the puppies, while Happy stayed with her a little longer.
“Happy was a little concerned. She was like, ‘Where are my babies?’” Luck shared.
Before long, a loving foster home was found for Happy as well. There, she was surrounded by kindness and care, helping her heal from the hardships she had endured.
Not long after, Luck returned with a heartwarming surprise—the one thing that would truly make Happy’s world complete. As soon as she saw her puppies again, her signature smile returned, and pure joy filled the room.
Eventually, the time came for Happy and her puppies to go their separate ways, each beginning a new chapter in their lives. But despite all she had endured, this resilient mother still had so much love to give.
“She’s been through so much in her life, and yet she’s still willing to give so much love,” Luck said with a smile.
Happy proved this every day in her foster home, where she not only cherished every moment with her new family but also formed an unbreakable bond with an unlikely best friend—a bunny she never left out of her sight.

Life had finally turned into a blessing for Happy, and she was just one step away from her happiest ending. Just as the kind-hearted woman at the start of her journey saw her worth, it was only a matter of time before someone else recognized her beauty and gave her the forever home she deserved.
