The moment they met her gentle eyes, they were captivated. Moved by compassion, they knew they had to help her—without hesitation.
They comforted Izzy with gentle cuddles and gave her food, assuring her that she was no longer alone—that she would never be ignored again.
Wanting to get her the help she deserved, they called Animal Control. When the officers arrived and met Izzy, they quickly realized she was a nursing mother.
A brief search around the store led to a heartwarming yet heartbreaking discovery—Izzy’s tiny puppies. They were vulnerable, hungry, and desperately in need of warmth and care.

The rescuers carefully scooped up Izzy’s precious puppies, placed them in a crate, and transported the devoted mama and her little ones to the Amelia Animal Shelter in Virginia.
At the shelter, the staff welcomed them with open arms, ready to provide the care they desperately needed. The very next day, they took Izzy and her puppies to the vet for a thorough checkup.
“Mom and the babies went to the vet today and got checked out, pedicures, and some meds to get all of them right on track. Everyone is doing good and eating well,” the shelter shared on Facebook, bringing hope to those following their journey.
Izzy and her adorable puppies quickly won over the hearts of their caregivers. The staff found joy in watching the little ones eagerly gulp down their food, knowing they were finally safe and well cared for.
