One morning, Bethany woke up to an unexpected sight—a stray puppy curled up asleep on her doorstep in South Carolina.
As she opened the door, the puppy stirred, instantly perking up with a wagging tail and a joyful expression, as if delighted to see her.
Bethany had no idea where he had come from. One possibility was that he had been abandoned, which might explain his friendly demeanor, but she couldn’t be certain.

The family couldn’t bring themselves to turn him away, so they let him stay on the doorstep and offered him some food.
A few nights later, Bethany let her son play with the puppy, and the two formed an instant bond.

After a few days, Bethany decided it would be best to take the puppy to a vet in South Carolina. They placed him in the car and set off to make sure he was healthy.
Everything checked out well, but Bethany was still unsure about adopting him. Yet, it felt like fate had brought him to their doorstep, and in the end, the family knew he was meant to stay.
The first few days weren’t easy. The puppy, now named Ryder, had never lived in a house before and seemed unsure about his new surroundings.
Sensing his hesitation, Bethany gave him a gentle nudge, encouraging him to step inside. The moment he did, it was as if he finally knew he belonged—Ryder immediately made himself at home.

He has brought so much joy into their lives. A young and intelligent pup, Ryder adores his family and is finally experiencing the warmth of a real home.
